Job Summary


Fleet Assistant is responsible for providing Drivers / Fleet with assistance with Safety along with the Federal and State Compliance Requirements.


Using the latest technology to track, monitor and update the drivers’ daily requirements then update the systems as needed. Report to Safety / Fleet Manager to receive work information and direction also to advise of job completion and any discrepancies with the drivers following instruction and policy. Update information in multiple tracking systems as necessary. Job Responsibility:



Keep updated and organized the digital folders of the drivers.



Insert Preventative Monthly Maintenance sheets.



Insert driver information such as licenses, medical cards, new hire information, accidents, etc.



Check for driver qualifications



Update drivers on expired information (expired TWIC, Sealink, Medical Cards, Licenses, etc.)



Look over the vehicle information (license plates, Titles, registration, insurance, bobtail)



Update policies and forms as directed from the Safety/Fleet Manager



Watch over the compliance of HOS and OOS



Make edits of violations of the HOS regulations



Connect with our customer outreach person with new information.



Order and replace new equipment.



Follow up with mechanics to install new equipment.



Follow through with Camera check to make sure they are in working order



Join seminars for my continuing education.



Overview of the safety videos. Make sure we select the correct online safety lessons for drivers every month to continue their training.

Make sure drivers complete the lessons.



Continue to be updated on all new systems with the Clearinghouse.



Make sure that drivers are not prohibited from driving.

Education and Experience:


o


High school diploma or equivalent required.


o


Familiarity with DOT regulations and industry standards for vehicle safety.


·


Skills and Abilities:


o


Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential safety hazards.


o


Effective communication skills for working with drivers, mechanics, and yard personnel.


o


Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:


o


Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.


o


Must be able to climb, stoop, and bend to inspect all parts of the truck and trailer.


Working Conditions:


·


Work is primarily performed inside an office in a trucking yard environment.


·


Exposure to loud noises, fumes, and other conditions typical of a truck maintenance facility.


·


May require working in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow.


·


The position may require early mornings, and evenings.


Your primary work location will be at our Kenilworth, NJ office, Monday – Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a half-hour lunch break. A valid driver’s license and transportation are required for your position, and it is your responsibility to maintain these throughout your employment.


You will be dedicated in time, talent, and best effort to working with us to provide the best service in the port trucking industry. You will be assigned various tasks related to Fleet & Safety and assist in resolving driver challenges as they arise. You will also be assisting in systems development to integrate our business workflow with solutions in both technology and fleet maintenance.
